In 2021, Malmö Forró came into being, fuelled by the shared passion of a small group of Forró enthusiasts who wanted to dance and create a space for others to do the same. They embarked on organizing events and spontaneous gatherings, bringing the infectious energy of Forró to parks, cozy cafés, and delightful restaurants around Malmö.
As the Forró community in the city grew, the dawn of 2022 marked a significant milestone. Malmö Forró hosted its four inaugural workshops, providing an opportunity for dancers to delve deeper into the art and essence of Forró. The success of these workshops led to the birth of beginner classes later that fall, which welcomed newcomers, nurturing their dancing dreams.
Since then, Malmö Forró has been offering regular classes to refine and expand their skills. Additionally, the community embraced the chance to enrich their Forró experience through workshops, skillfully led by esteemed teachers from Brazil and various parts of Europe.
